I’m a retired school district Facilities Manager. Our district had thousand of A/C units in the desert. Our maintenance department faced 20 to 30 units down on any given 110 degree day. Many units were 20 or more years old due to budget restraints. Hard start kits are not a panacea, but when you have 30 kids and a teacher in a sweltering room, they serve a purpose until the compressor can be replaced (not an option with RV’s)
They tried just about every “hard start” kit on the market and the one that was most successful was the 5-2-1 compressor saver.
I put one on my 13.5 and it has never failed to start and restart with my Yammy 2400 at high altitude (up to 7,500) and high temperature.
Jus’ sayin’
