I have tried both the Honda EU 1000I and the Yamaha EF 1000IS.
The Yamaha is a tad bit lighter to carry but the rope pull starter took a bit more effort to turn the engine over.
The Yamaha is a tad bit quieter because the engine runs slower than the Honda at light load. All in all i would take either one as they meet my needs fine,( battery charging ). Bought the Yamaha because it was a little bit less than the Honda in my area.
