Comparing *Small* Inverter Generators

I will be missing the convenience of the garage with a ramp- my old unit was a toy hauler - for the heavy stuff. The outside storage is going to get higher each year for 70 pound generators and I am into my 60s now and we know where that is leading too. If I really wanted to I have a 1200 watt PSW interter that would (likely) power the microwave - but then DW gets a big kick out of using gas to cook and it is rarely used and will cross that bridge if an when we get there (the coffee machine works fine off the inverter, that she would not live without). That leaves the air conditioner only, and if the weather is going to be 'like that' I have the 2.2 kw unit (which despite lots of reports it cannot handle a air-conditioner it has never once shut down)
I assumed the shutdown would be from the inverter overloading, not the motor having less power at altitude (or the fans not working as well?), thanks for the clarification.
I cannot find any information on that Black Max unit at Sam's club, even the corporate website does not list this unit, and not sure if there are Sam's club in Canada. I think based on this thread I will reverse the order of my top two, unless I can find a real good price on the Yamaha unit.
