Having a 1,000 watt generator is like having a 10-year old helper when building a house.
Could even make the timer obsolete.... Just fill the tank to the right level and let the 1000 shut itself down.
Deviously clever... same could be said for an Eu2000i. I like both of mine. But I like use of microwave too. And that requires the Eu2000i, if one generator is going to do it all.
You can set up to run the MW etc off-grid using an inverter. Then all you need is a way to recharge the batts. There is no need to have the gen capable of running the MW. It only has to run the battery charger, if solar can't keep up.
The small gens just take longer to recharge the batts than the bigger gens that can run a higher amp charger. This only matters if you have short generator hours in the campground, or are short of gasoline to run the gen, or don't have a high amp charger anyway.
Too many posters are confusing the gen size requirements for running a MW with the gen size for battery charging, and with that, ignoring the inverter size to run the MW. (And with that, battery bank size/type to run the inverter running the MW)
The most important thing in RV-land is to make toast at 7am with a real toaster, when it is way before "generator hours" that morning. Once you have that solved in your rig, the rest runs itself!
The only toast I am making in french toast, with propane, in a frying pan, 2 slices at a time, in egg and vanilla batter, with powdered sugar and syrup. Camping for me is vacation, not full timing it without a stick and brick home.
I already have the 2 sizes of generators. Not going to spend the money on an inverter and enough batteries and heavy wiring to run the microwave, not with a 21 foot TT. There's this thing called tongue weight limits for a class III trailer hitch involved, that shall not be exceeded.
