I believe Novakool is the only Danfoss powered 12v front loading Compressor fridge maker that uses a passive condenser where paying extra attention to the convection currents will yield the benefits Mex speaks of.
My Norcold de 0040 (1.7 cubic feet) had a sawafuji compressor, and it failed at about 5 years of running 11 months a year, I believe due to low refrigerant levels.
I replaced it with a 1.81 cubic foot Vitrifrigo C51is. Danfoss. Much quieter, better performance, less battery power consumed.
I made sure the condenser sees only ambient air temps. It has one compressor controlled fan pulling air from behind and below and pushing it across the compressor and controller and then out the side. It is a rare and hot day where it consumes more than 22 amp hours per 24 hours. I average about 16 to 18A/h per 24 hours in 65 to 70f average ambient.
I also have added insulation.
I am not sure how much more a 6 or 8 cubic foot fridge would consume. It might use the Danfoss BD50 as opposed to the BD35 compressor.
What's nice about the Danfoss is the adjustable compressor speeds. I took out the 270 ohm resistor on mine to run at the slowest compressor speed of 2000 rpm, down from 2500rpm. Max is 3500.
