Wow, this thread continues to get better and better.
So, just to clarify my specific situation I'm planning on a 5.8 cuft refrigerator AND a 5.8 cuft freezer for a total of 11.6 cuft.
According to the Power Consumption graph that Westend linked to if you follow along the '150 liters' line you can see 50 ah's for the refer and 150 ah's for the freezer.
When I spoke with the techs at Nova Kool they said to figure around 3 amps per hour per unit but we were talking refrigerator. One would have to think the freezer would consume more power than the fridge so I'd have to think the 200 ah's shown on the garph would be a fairly good number to run with and I'd much rather error on the high side.
Dave, yes, I am planning on adding additional insulation around both the units as well as a radiant barrier as the range will be in the next cabinet over from the freezer.
I know 1.5kw solar array sonunds like a lot but if you derate it (.77) and figure all the rest of the goodies that I'm planning on I think it will do the job and again, I'm the kind of person that would rather over build than under.
