Hi Almot,
What is the likelihood of 100% duty cycle?
What is the ambient :)?
If you install off the shelf 6 cu.ft freezer without adding insulation,
and make no efforts to provide adequate ventilation in the back (which can be passive chimney as well),
and the ambient is +90,
and you want to keep it at 0F inside -
the likelihood will be high.
I would be worried if it were running 100%. This would mean that something is wrong with freezer design or installation. Or - with unit assembling, ex. not enough coolant in the system. The bottom line is - a unit with BD50 drawing anywhere close to 120 AH would not be a normal situation.
PS:
Heck with those Danfoss charts - must be something lost in translation from German.
The numbers that the OP is assuming "between 150 and 200 amp hours a day for that 5.8 cu.ft size refer/freezer combination" are not way off. For one unit this would've been too much, but for both - close to what I would estimate. 40-60 Ah for frig and 60-90 AH for freezer. So - yes, both units together can draw 100-150 AH. Plus other devices. With this load, even in sunny Mexico I would want at least 900W system. In places less sunny - over 1,100W.
