BFL, thanks.
At 10 amps and 13.6 volts, I have no load except for a very small fraction of an amp for the propane detector. Now I am at 11.2 amps, 14.0 volts and the Nova Kool is running. The NK pulls 2.2 amps so 9 amps are going in to the battery. With my old controller I would have long since passed the charging voltage of 13.6 and virtually no amps would have been flowing into the battery. It is about mid day and I have probably dumped at least 50-60 AHs on the batteries. Following the typical behavior, if it remains clear, I will see the amps drop gradually to about 5 amps. I will probably average about 8 amps for the next 4 hours. That will be over 100 AH of charging over the course of the day. Where is it going? My use since yesterday was maybe 20 AH for the refrigerator and maybe as much as 10 AH for the computer, LED lights, etc. With my old charger, I would have reached 13.6 volts within a few hours and the charging would have all but stopped.
