Since your laptop is wireless and the Mornistar is not, you will need to connect a ethernet cable from the controller to the laptop.

The problem is you will need a SPECIALLY wired Ethernet cable which has the PAIRS of wires "switched". Standard Ethernet cables are wired straight through and your network hubs actually automatically switch the pairs for you. Hence the cable you need is a switched pair one or also known as a "crossover" cable.

Once you have a switched pair cable you should be able to find the charger port address..

    Crossover cable
  • You need to use a crossover cable- not a standard ethernet cable if you are going direct from the computer to the tristar- otherwise a standard cable to a router would work.
  • Sorry no where near enough info to do anything but take a few guesses
The controller does NOT have a DHCP server nor is it wireless
Which means you will need to be on the very same subnet
Did you connect via the RS232 serial connection and take a look at exactly what IP address you are trying to connect with?

Most of the time they are very simple and easy to connect to

Some more info will sure help to resolve your issue
