Continuing On-Board Pump Issue

Dealer story they cleaned out the inlet filter was as I thought BS. I can now blow into the tank through the winterizing tube, but it is not as free flowing as I would expect it to be.

When running the pump pulling water from the tank, the whole system shakes and vibrates and is flow limited. Pulling water from a bucket using the winterizing tube, it's quiet and develops good flow.

Does anybody know how the water tank nipple is constructed and/or have a suggestion on how to clear the line out?

  • Connect hoses to the input and output pump connections. If the problem still occurs rebuild or replace the pump.

What you've posted might also suggest an intermittent pump problem - ie did and now doesn't work on the winterize tube.

Valve on winterizing tube and valve on inlet line allow me to blow into the tank.

Ran some water through the winterizing tube today, and it also shakes really bad. This is a new development, and before it was fine.

Checked the pump screen and it's clean.

My winterizing tube goes to the pump intake or the tank depending upon valve settings. So I can blow into the tank if desired.

Maybe it’s 2 one-way values instead of a 2-way? Then you could open them both.

Many are just screwed in, just remove hose and unscrew, then remove debris. Be careful when tightening, it is just plastic and can't be made much more than finger tight.
  • might check the tank vent, you could be trying to pull a vacuum if the vent is clogged.next time call a local rv tech, there smarter than the burger king mech at the dealer. and they come to you.
