Controller as Converter ?
Somebody posted he is using his 15 amp controller as an adjustable voltage converter, but I can't find that thread to see how he did it. Anybody link to that thread? Thanks The main problem, ISTR...

I have a couple ideas how I might use such a set-up if it would actually work. Too vague to specify right now :) Want to read that thread again first.
EG, Suppose in a truck camper, you could swap inputs with a big switch to the solar controller input, between solar panels or the truck's alternator to camper input, and get the specified battery voltage for your particular battery type/model either way? (No gen to run a charger from in this sceanario)
Also supposing I could use my existing solar controller selection, and not necessarily have to get one like Mr Wiz's. Would it need a buck converter in it (be an MPPT) or could a PWM (no buck converter) do it? Lots to learn before getting too excited. :)
