I just wound up ordering a new converter. I've chased this problem long enough. I took the one posters advice to call Randy at Best Converter and he was the best. I told him of what the issue was and described how things were acting electrically and he said change the converter from the WFCO. So I ordered the Progressive Dymanics 9260 and once I got it changed out BAM! everything was better. Lights were a bit brighter, slides worked more strongly, awning worked more strongly...and 13.62 volts at the battery. The 4 stage charger of the 9260 was reccomended by Randy for my AGM battery and style of camping. Kudos to Best Converter. If you ever have issues don't waste your time calling anyone else.

Sounds like an open circuit to the battery. Check both ground and positive lead.

With everything turned off what voltage are you getting at the battery? The .54 volts sounds a bit wierd.

I got .54 volts coming to the battery. It seems though the rest of the converter is sending 12 volts to the lights and both refrigerators because they are working normally. The one thing I did not check are the circuit breakers monunted on the frame near the battery. Could it be one or both of those? I have a AGM battery btw.

For a new converter may I suggest a Progressive Dynamics 9200 model This is a stand alone Wizard controlled multi-stage converter.. I have yet to find one better for use with Flooded wet cells.
For batteries.. I truly like GC-2 where practical (or the larger L-16 I think they are) These both fit the same footprint as a Group 24. but are taller..
GC-2 pair is 220 amp horus give or take, DEEP CYCLE so you can use half (V/s about 1/4 on a Marine Deep cycle) The larger one is 2x that OF coruse they are also heavier (Same pound per amp watt hour as the others so a GC-2 weighs about the same as a 110 Amp hour (Group 29) but you can use 2x the power)

They do need the occasional drink of distilled water however.

The load test addition is confirmed here in the Test instructions for the PowerMax LK converters (which start at 14.6 when first turned on):

"TEST. First, disconnect all loads and battery on the Converter/Charger by removing all 12 VDC connections from + or POS . Second,
attach a multimeter instrument between the positive and negative terminals of the Converter/Charger. Then energize the 120 VAC converter
circuit. Test for proper output power using the multimeter. Measure the output voltage from the positive and negative terminals. The voltage
should read 14.6 +/- 0.2 VDC. Add 12 VDC load connections to about 2/3 of the rated capacity of the converter. Recheck the voltage, which
should remain approximately the same as at no load."

Replacing the WFCO converter with a better one will be a plus, you will get better battery life.
You may want to go battery shopping while waiting for the converter.

Checked and tested everything and it's dead, zip, zilch, nada, RIP. Now to order a new converter and get a new battery. Thanks for all the help.
