I got a feeling the 5 ohm resistance is too high. The 5 ohm unit (SL32R020) is good for 13,900 uF. You got 2 times 1,200 uF, or 2,400 uF. The one ohm unit (SL22 1R020) is good for 4,400uF. You get a lower on resistance with the 1 ohm unit (.03 vs. .08 ohm @ 50% current).
If your converter is drawing 10A, then the 5 ohm part dissipates 8W and the 1 ohm part dissipates 3W. It may be a cumulative cooking of the part that it eventually fails.
On the negative side, SL22 1R020 is physically a smaller part. Max energy rating is 65 J (vs. 200 J). Since the resistance is 5 times less, it doesn't require as high a energy rating.
I like SL22 1R020 better.
