so here we have 7 pages of discussions about a failure and failure symptom (blow thermistor), no schematics, a possible early production or protype unit and no real root cause determined. No way to do a circuit analysis with the info available.
I'd still suggest contacting hte mfg and see if they will do a root cause analysis and repair, they may be real interested in the failure and you may get an updated unit out of it.
