I found this in the 100amper's specs on boatandrv, which I posted earlier
•MAX INRUSH CURRENT, SINGLE CYCLE: 40 AMPS
so not sure if that matches for how many half cycles, but compares in the same order as that 36a?
Sometimes on a normal start up with the 100amper you hear a nasty loud snap, which scard me thinking it was the thermistor blowing, but it wasn't blown. somebody here posted that you get those snaps from the capacitors, but not every time. It depends on where in the cycle you happen to start at he said IIRC.
(no idea when that was or who, or topic to do a search on that)
the 100amper PM3-100 came with an SCK202R5 thermistor which is 2.5ohm, 9a. They sent me the SL32 5R020 as a replacement (which is what I am going to replace that with and take longer before any restarts ( I promise to be good from now on--- :) )
So the newer design 100amper (see my photos again way back) has the bigger thermistor but one less inductor. Maybe they should have left in that inductor. or don't let me anywhere near their 100ampers!
