Today's recharge, same conditions as yesterday, this time I got the Honda going on Eco, let it warm a bit, plugged in the 100 amper, no load 14.8v.
This morning there was a small chunk of thermistor that had fallen off where it was cracked that time as described above. Removed that.
This time I first turned off the Eco on the Honda so it was going full blast and then clamped on the charger to the batts (12.1v again)
No problem! No smoke no red spots no nothing, just good amps and a nice recharge going. Waited a bit then turned the Honda Eco back on, no problem.
Evidence is mounting that the cold start is fine with these 020s and they don't even need to have all of their black stuff there to still work. It is also more certain that it is restarts that caused all the trouble with flaming thermistors I have been having.
