Apparently Ken still doesn't understand 1/2CV^2. I doesn't matter what the thermistor resistance is. The energy dissipated during turn-on is 1/2CV^2. And once the converter is up and running, a lower thermistor resistance will LOWER its power dissipation.
Other than nonsense I see I haven't missed anything having him on ignore.

? So as R goes to 0 the energy dissipated goes to infinity?
