With new converters and chargers designed so they won’t fry the electronics or kill a battery because a user forgets to flip a switch, or left it plugged in to shore power too long, I don’t see the point in keeping with the old regimen. If it was just me, I can adapt and feel certain I’d be ok. But with others using it, and the cost of a new fridge, furnace, water heater, etc, due to fried control board, well….
Thanks everyone for the help. I now better understand how my cheapo converter will find its way to the dumpster, and new things to look at resolving when I update for solar, dual batteries, etc later this year.
