I had the outlet installed in a garage where I store my RV and they installed the wrong type. I was hoping there was an easy solution to just plug in an adapter and be done with it. Sounds like maybe the best solution is to get the electrician back out and have him take out the 14-30R and install a TT-30R.
Not a big deal to DIY but if you paid for TT-30 he should fix it.
Actually the TT-30 would be slightly lower cost with one less wire and a single breaker.
:E make sure it is just 120 volts before you plug in :E
Have him show you on his meter.
