Cooling Improvements

I went to install 2 ea Micro-Air Easy Starts on my 2 AC units on my hauler. I always thought I had one 13.5K BTU and one 15K BTU AC's. I discovered I have 2 15K AC's. Win for me! The Micro-Air's will help me to run a 3rd AC. While the covers are off I am going to repaint them white as I think a black cover in the Arizona sun is a bad idea. I am using FlexSteel paint. Another help I have done to keep cool when it is 100+ is I painted the black sidewalls of my slide outs a very light gray. When they were black, the inside walls of my slides would get over 100* when in direct sun. Now they get about 80*.

  • Come back and update in a couple months and let us know how that FlexSteel paint works out.

I repaianted the propane tank cover on my Outback TT with Professional Rustolium. I spray painted over the horrible fading brown and repainted with black. It's now been 2 months, but the paint is holding just fine. Although, that black REALLY shows the dirt. But the black also goes very well with my camper. I may switch colors eventually.

The cover on my air conditioner feels to me, to be the same material as my propane tank cover (that plastic vinyl stuff.) And I've used Rustolium on other plastics before too (as well as a lot of metal). It's always held up good over time on all surfaces. So wondering how that FlexSteel will work out.
