Corrosion on cable end!

I've developed corrosion on the male end of the cable that plugs into the truck. Is there a product or technique to remove it? It's causing an intermittent outage in my brake controller. (Pardon me if the link doesn't work.)

  • replace it, its not hard ,and give it a spray of crc couple times a year both ends.
  • I use CRC electrical contact cleaner on all my trailers a couple times a year. All of the plugs are in great shape. I would try that and used compressed air to blow it out.
  • At this point I would replace it. It's not that hard, just a pig-tail assembly. Something like this.
Looks like a lot of salt has gotten at it. Is there any chance an animal has wet on it?
