Costco! champion 3100w genny
$799 at Costco. looks like a 3000ihandi 58db 8hrs at 25% load... who has one? they have the 2000w smart tools for 599 too and a wagan 1500w solar genny for 699. they call it an inverte...

As a note, it did not come with engine oil, as my last Champion inverter did. So, if you pick one of these up, make sure and grab a quart of 10w30 on the way home. Otherwise, you may be making a trip back to the parts store.
It was a little louder at low idle than I expected it to be, but completely acceptable. I only ran it for about 10 minutes as a break-in. I didn't put a load on it.
At this point, I'm very happy with the size, weight, sound, and especially the value. It's also a very sturdy design. Combine that with the warranty through Camping World and I think this is a very good deal.

bmzero, thanks for the info and update! I'm sure a few folks here are curious whether it runs your a/c successfully with the ECOnomy mode both off and on. Please give us an update (along with the size of your a/c unit) when you get a chance. Thanks!
