I get what you're saying. If you're only using 2 GC's then it really doesn't make much sense to baby them. It's cheaper to replace them but I will say that an occasional 15+V blast with one of those cheap power supplies would make them last much longer and be even cheaper overall. Seriously, come home from a camping trip, turn off the solar when it says full, turn on the power supply at 15.5V for two hours, turn that off, turn the solar back on. Don't even have to check SG and I bet you at least double the life on those GC's.
