My solar controller will bring the battery to the adjustable set point and hold it there for the programmed time regardless of other systems charging.
Tristar MPPT-60.
Just checked the price for ordering ... for $550 should also wash dishes :-) LOL
My MTTP is a China knock off of something. So you say that when your house battery charger is energized and settles down to 13.4 or whatever, your solar charge controller keeps on charging until you get to the solar controller's specified high voltage hold setting? Mine doesn't do that - not sure why. Maybe because it was the cheapest on the market. With mine when it sees the voltage on the battery from the house charger reads the 13.4 as the generator or house current is applied, it just goes to sleep and won't bring up and hold the battery then to the 14.5 I normally see with no 110V.
Thinking this through, however, perhaps some other load I don't know about gets switched to DC when the genset is running? If this was a high amp load (like a 12V refrigerator coil which I don't believe I have in this Norcold) then that would make sense but I can't think of any other load otherwise that would be automatically toggled to 12v when the house power supply came active.
