A 14.8 volt limit is fine for the electronic appliances 16 volts is not fine.
What would happen do you think if I added a battery disconnect switch and powered the battery charger at 16V while I let the generator via the conventional power supply take care of the house needs at 13.8 during these special timer sessions? Is that an early sentence for my batteries or can I then shorten the charge time notably with 16V without too much fallout?
It does seem funny there are so many opinions, warnings and wories over exact voltages because I have one of those tall rolling 200 amp stand up chargers to start a dead battery and used it many times before and it doesn't burn anything out, the lights do get super bright I might add. No telling how many volts the "boost/start" setting on that beast feeds into a battery.
And speaking of that, I was in a RV store the other day and saw a contraption that is an auto-waterer for a lead acid battery. What will they think of next!
