Right on, price was not part of this. I just took it upon myself to check out a "professional install" by a Solar place,....been here for many years, and just moved a brand new place this year, and has a 4 day waiting list. Those who know Quartzside, know exactly the place.
The rubber roof is just common sense in my book, but if they guarantee it, maybe that makes it right ??
What I really don't get, isn't Blue Skys a top knotch controller ?
The manual plainly lists a wire chart of up to 35 ft cable
1 way) to the batteries, and shows 22 ft using 6 ga. So, maybe its not as bad as we/I have been taught. And not having a voltage max allowing series connected panels ?? We/he was also disappointed to see there was no temp comp connected to the controller. It shows it to be optional in the manual.
I'm just trying to pic apart a very expensive install, but except for the "glue only" rubber roof, I'm having a confusing time doing it. :)
Batt wires, a "twisted pair ?? It looked to be a single (1 single wire)....clear insulation...like speaker wire. He did know that they used the aluminum trailer frame for the batt negative, but we couldn't see where the connection to the frame was made. I'd be curious if the wire was twin lead ripped in half ??
All interesting for sure.
And if it works, its hard to say its not right ?? That's not to say it couldn't work better ?
