Hey Bob,
A couple of buds of mine won an award at an inventor's conference for a new product. Basically, it is a 1/4" diameter fiberglass rod with two holders attached to the shower enclosure. When placed in the holders it forms a bow to keep the shower curtain from coming into the shower stall.
I'm sure a guy like yourself could duplicate it in a heartbeat. Good luck.
