I tryed to recharge my dash air with one of those big cans of ac pro refrigerate.I hooked it up as per directions and while pressing the trigger the clutch on my compressor started clicking like crazy...

My experience with low refrigerant is any time it's low, there's a leak in the system and adding more works only for a short while.
