The RV Industry follows the House wiring codes for wiring. The problem is however alot of appliances like auto radios and others may use the automotive industry wiring colors right out of the box.
Batteries are used in both RV Wiring and Automotive Wiring schemes.
RV Wire Colors for the Battery is BLACK for the Positive (+) Battery Terminal connection and WHITE for the NEGATIVE (-) Battery terminal.
In the Automotive Worlds the RED cable is connected to the POSITIVE (+) Battery Terminal and BLACK for the NEGATIVE (-) Battery Terminal.
Therefore it is hit and miss on which colors get used around the BATTERIES in the RV World.
My utility trailer is wired using automotive wire colors but my safety lights wiring on my RV Trailer uses the RV wiring color scheme. Both are trailers....
In my RV Trailer it is BLACK for hot and WHITE for grounds everywhere except where the JENSEN RADIO is installed which RED for hot and BLACK for ground and I indeed have a terminal block close to the Jensen radio where a BLACK wire is on top of RED wire hehe.
Of course my BATTERY wiring from the Converter/charger unit on my 2008 OFF-ROAD Camper trailer is RED for POSITIVE and BLACK for FRAME GROUND... go figure... So when I added additional BATTERIES to my battery bank I used the same color scheme being RED for POSITIVE and BLACK for FRAME GROUND.
It bothers us old guys seeing a RED CABLE on TOP of BLACK CABLE...
