dead engine battery
can anyone tell me if its okay to jump my engine battery off my house batteries . is it that simple .

Sure....They are both 12 volt.
However, if your engine battery is dead, charging it from dead is quite hard on your charging system, always best to charge it with a trickle charger. I know if you are in a bind, no choice...but just saying
