The door thingy sounds like a plunger switch for the dome light etc., not a contact for a keypad mounted in the door. Typically the wires for stuff attached to the door run through a sort of umbilical between the door and the frame on the hinge side, though I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions and alternatives that have been devised.
You might try checking chassis fuses; accessory or radio or convenience fuses would be my first guess, but often vehicle makers delight in throwing random things together on the same fuse without apparent logic...and labeling them cryptically or misleadingly.
