The peltier electronic dehumidifiers freeze up faster at lower temperature since they generate no heat while running, unlike a traditional compressor style. Found out they are not good for storage in snowy locales. While not as effective as the old style D/H, mine only uses 75 watts. I use mine all the time to help keep the humidity down.
There is a renewable desiccant dehumidifier called Eva Dry. Crystals like Damp Rid but they change color with absorption and you just plug it in elsewhere to dry it back out.
