You can't get there from where you are. Been there done that...
I have to use a large dehumidifier to drop humidity once it gets to say 80 degrees. Temp drops humidity stays high and then the nightmare of feeling CLAMMY sets in.
At least my intelligence shouted for me to concentrate on humidity not temperature. So I let the dehumidifier roar by itself. It's way more comfortable for me at 80F and 45% humidity than it is at 72F with 65% humidity.
Using silica gel is like ******* on a forest fire. One time I dispersed TWENTY FIVE POUNDS in buckets in a 14 x 20 room. Five hours later very little difference in comfort and the buckets had a lot of water. Silica gel is for totally sealed packages.
If there was an easier way to eliminate steambath or clammy, dehumidifier manufacurers would have gone the way of the dodo.
Buying an undersize dehumidifier is as intelligent as buying undersize clothes.
