My camping neighbor told me Honda just came out with a NEW 3500 watt and about 70 pounds weight and low noise.I googled the net, but no luck any new Gens from Honda.Anybody heard of such a Generator?I am looking for a REAL Quiet Gen to run my AC.Thanks

Sounds like the Honda Handi they came out with a few years back. Louder and more expensive that the EU3000is and pretty much identical to the Champion 3100i that sells for $799.

Sure you can. The general round number rule is -6db for the distance doubled.So measuring the Honda at 23', add another -9db to its spec (in round numbers)

Probably just a Honda engine in some other brand open frame generator.

There should be a online source of this brochure but I sure can't find it. Maybe you could provide this unlike the last thread that died without proof.

I called Mayberry Sales & Service internet phone #800-696-1745. Their rep is contacting Honda to rectify the erroneous information on their site.

For all those that believe Honda's are rated at 23'. I suggest you call Honda like I did and order Honda Generator Brochure and READ it for yourself.

There was another thread where someone made this claim from some brochure they had but couldn't substantiate it. They tried to get Robert the Honda guy here to do so but he never did. When I went to Mayberrys looking for stats on the Handi I noticed that the Honda 2000 and EU3000is is rated at 7 meters, not 9 feet.

Someday Honda owners are just going to have accept that Honda isn't the only option anymore. The Handi isn't just louder, it's more expensive than the EU3000is. The only thing left for Honda is reputation, color and shrinking market share if they can't do better.

The Champion 3100i weighs the same, looks the same and is rated for the same db at the same distance. Perhaps you are thinking of the Champion 3500/4000 that isn't an inverter model, weighs more and is 3 db louder than the handi or the 3100i, will run more and is $300.

Don't know where you got your info from but on Champion web site their Model #75555i 3100watt inverter generator (CSA) dBA is measured at "23feet". NOT!!! 9 feet like Honda

Honda came out with the 3000w Handi a while back as a cheaper alternative to the EU3000. Not as quiet.
