differance between 13500 BTU/Ac and 15000 BTU/AC

I have a 31 foot class C motor home with a 13500 BTU/ac and it will not keep my unit cool. It runs all day and most the night. Will a 15000 BTU unit make a big enough difference or is their something else I can do to make this one work. I have single pain windows and know that's not helping. I have dark covers over all my vents.

  • No, the extra 1500 BTU's will not make enough of a difference for the cost of buying a new 15k AC. ANY motorhome(trailers also) over 28 feet will need 2 AC units to cool adequately in 90 degree heat and higher. Doug
  • The difference is not going to make a really big difference, some yes. The best thing to do is find some shade, make use of the awning to keep direct sun off of mh, cover the windows with Reflectix to eliminate sun coming in, especially the windshield. We’ve started using a fan to move the area around and it seems to help some.
