It is hard to tell how your are measuring these values and whether you are doing it properly. What you described (if described accurately, is not how the Boondocker works. I don't know what exactly you told Randy and what he said was "normal"
What I posted earlier is what is "normal" and that is what you should get. I will try to find my 100amper plot that shows how your 75 should act like
(Ignore the difference between converter and battery voltage as plotted. That turned out to mostly voltage drop on my wires at 100 amps)
The six ft of #4 could be what made it do just under the 75. Shorter/ fatter wire would have it doing just over 75. But you are "good enough" with the amps you got, so IMO leave it as is.
