  • Looks like you have been RV'ing since 2004. Is this the first time you have put the receiver(s) in the RV? If not, how have you hooked them differently this time?
  • Does it happen to recorded programs that you have watched before or newly recorded ones? Is it something that was recorded at home for playback while on the road or something recorded while in the RV?

The problem could be weather related... heavy rains while recording at home, or a combination of heavy rain, a slightly miss-aligned antenna and or a bad cable connector/connection if recorded in the RV.
  • Try running a temporary HDMI cable from the DVR to the TV in question and see if the problem goes away. It sounds like that cable may have a problem.
  • Is this one receiver or 2? What antenna do you have it (or them) connected to. What specific model number receivers are you using?
Home and RV is not the same in most cases.
  • One more time, the receiver work perfect at home the problem is in the trailer.
  • A few quick thoughts:

Do a power cycle on the problem receiver. Maybe even a full-blown reset. Don't know if a reset will require to you reauthorize the receiver, but if it does, you can do that on-line.

Try swapping the two receivers and see if the problem moves to the other TV.

Check the voltages at the power plug to make sure you're getting a full 120v for the receiver. Don't think that would do it, but worth a quick check.

Is your DVR hard drive really full? Sometimes when it is, the recording gets fragmented so badly the receiver can't reassemble it fast enough - especially if the DVR is also recording something else at the same time.

I don't know if DirecTV cares if you've taken your receivers from home. If they don't, you might want to get a service call. My guess is they'd just give you a new receiver, but also don't know about that. Personally, I like it best when DirecTV stays away. :)
