This isn't going to solve your problem but if you haven't already done so you should replace the factory plastic fuel filter " bleed " screw with a metal one. The bleed screw is the one that you crack open and then manually pump to prime a new fuel filter. The plastic ones are known to leak and/or snap off especially in cold weather. Good luck on the trip.
