An alternative way to determine the state of being for AGM is to use an adjustable carbon pile load tester with accurate instrumentation. Wait for 50 cycles before establishing a baseline on a brand new AGM. If subsequent load tests (BCI CCA) reveal substantially lower voltage, something is afoot. Usually plate area sulfation masking.

Accurate instrumentation means digital rather than analog.
