Does DEKA make a good UPS battery?

Calcium/calcium flooded and pure lead AGM batteries hold voltages .2 - .3 volts higher than lead antimony. Been that way the 40 or so years they have been abusing me. Sorry to disagree with East Penn but their thoughts are 24/7/365 as a UPS battery so to a telecommunications co that demands their hibernating batteries last forever. Mats soaked with 1.285 SG acid would play at a slightly lower voltage but render fewer amp hours. It may fight you but follow Landy's advice IMHO. Zap that sucker. It has fallen out of the hammock and has to go to work now. You don't need an 85% capacity UPS battery that lasts for 20-years do you? When telecomm upgrades a site they @#$/\&! -can all the batteries and install even more all-new batteries. It's going to be fun watching this to see just how stubborn this battery proves to be. Some can be mules. Konk it over the head with a 2X4. Wake it up. If you're the nervous type shoot the terminals.with an IR pyrometer to reassure you the cells are playing Joe Cool when you're yelling "Reville! Up and at 'em!"
