I'll be happy to share what ever I can although I don't have a amp meter for the Megawatt. I had planned on using a panel on the system to know when the amps dropped and how far. That would also push the charging amps up to 50 or so in the beginning.
I would appreciate if someone could suggest a amp meter. I am assuming 50 amp with a shunt. It's not like they are expensive digital or analog, I just don't know where to pick one up locally.
I cautiously tested the lifelines over the 9 day we were up there. Most mornings the bank was 12.7 or 12.8 when I got up in the morning. Saturday afternoon it had gone through a full absorb cycle getting to below 10a while still running the trailer and had gone into float. I decided it was a good time to really push the bank and ran the air conditioner fro 3-4 hours in cloudy conditions. Turned that off and made dinner on the 470w cook top, ran the TV half the night as well as the furnace. At that time I thought the sun would come out tomorrow like the song says, but the song lied as mentioned above. By Monday morning the voltage under load while running the TV/SAT, coffee maker, phone chargers, fan and furnace was 12.1v. It was resting at 12.5v this morning when I left for work. I'm pretty convinced the bank could hold us over for quite awhile in cloudy weather if we backed off the heavy loads.
That said, I wont go up without the generator again. We were suppose to stay out and the forecast was for cloudy weather for two or three more days. I don't like worrying about the power and would hate to damage a bank that would cost a lot to replace over the concept of being generator free.
