I just got a pound of Kester 63/37 .031 solder but it was ~25$
Biggest mistake I made was buying Bernzomatic lead free solder at home depot. I blame my failure on soldering 8awg to the wattmeter on using that utter horrid junk. Dries slowly, and Cloudy and apparently only melts at 900F.
My Weller 140/100 watt gun works so much better when I use Deoxit on the tangs for the tip. I mistakenly bought the replacement tips for the larger 400 watt gun, and had to modify them to fit my 140 watt Weller, and they take longer to heat up, but work great once they get there.
