You won't see 14.4 chisled into the case. Crank the Mega up to 14.8 and see what amperage you get. The recovery protocol is rude - I suggest you read it rather than stay squeamish about a yawn grade overcharge. Keep it at 14.8 and touch the battery occasionally. If it exceeds 10F over ambient keep an eye on and for recombinant capacity overload - slight bulge of the sides. No it isn't going to vent. It's a stupid battery not a flask of nitroglycerine. It's battery conditioning -not electrochemical waterboarding.
