Another 1/2 hour session charging at 14.4V on the grid, after the battery was sitting disconnected for 18 hours at 12.95V OCV showed the battery taking another .57 Amps, cumulative.
First session on Friday yielded 3.6 amps being absorbed at 14.4V on the grid.
My take on this is that DEKA knows that their AGM Telcom batteries, with the chemistry they use, is 100% charged at 12.8V, as stated in their PDF, despite everyone elses AGM's getting up to somewhere between 13.0 and 13.1V when new.
There is a lot of lead plate, 105 lbs worth in this battery, for a small 145 Amp hours at 8hrs, 158AH at 20 hrs. There is a LOT of length to this battery too, same width at a T-1275, for the amount of amp hr's it puts out. It's supposed to be a 10 year battery, maybe the plates are very, very thick to get 10 years out of it, and the battery acid is weak in the battery, or the chemistry of the plates is such that it doesn't put out as much voltage as The BIG Names in high end AGM batteries. It is a commercial battery, my use is not in it's normal repetoire, it's going to get worked, instead of spending it's whole life on float any more.
