Standby batteries are legendery for being weird. The companies will stand on their head trying to avoid sending a technician up a hill.to goof-off, strike that I mean work all day getting to the site, trouble shoot then service or repair. Some sites are overnighters meaning per-diem for a tech.
So the golden rule is NO MAINTENANCE. The old batteries were calcium/ calcium and repeated 50% discharges would destroy them. So worst case outages were calculated at 20% discharge 80% remaining even it that meant a ton and a half more batteries.
A telling characteristic of AGM is if the battery loses capacity and tops out .3 volt less than it should then under loading it's gonna fall flat on its face. The first time you put the lash to your new battery it will no longer be a mystery if it's a good battery or not. Thick mats will aitomatically make resting voltage lower. The battery design may imclude surplus acid as telecom usually puts low voltage disconnects in their sites. Un-acid starving an AGM does weird things as I wrote above. Heavy. Low energy efficiency per lb. But a lifespan that would make a Swede envious. Lash it, thrash it. See if it has grit.
