They do exist. Try a State or Federal campground in a desert area that has no hookups but nevertheless has campsites designed large enough for RV's. These type campgrounds often allow unrestricted generator use. These type campgrounds also are less crowded in hot weather and usually provide a more remote and pristine setting.
We recently stayed in one .... and boy was it relaxing to be there and still be comfortable with our genny running as much as we wanted for A/C in the midday heat (... or perform unlimited battery experiments). We explored, hiked, and photographed in the cooler mornings and evenings.
Had I needed or wanted to, I could have done as much battery tweaking as I wanted there ... but that was not necessary as our two new 12V deep cycle 115 AH AGMs were performing as expected on the entire trip.
