MEXICOWANDERER

It's short-to-medium length 240 volt power outage that Telecom companies have to design for. How frequent are 8+ hour outages? Total, absolute, and complete depletion at the 8 hour rate will NOT destroy this class of battery. Those microwave stations, even those down here have low battery cutout, and high and low 240vac protection. I do not see a heck of a lot of difference in construction of anodic/cathodic construction according to what Niner reports evolved from his telephone call to DEKA. So a primary question went unanswered: Exactly at what point is the telecomm battery deemed 100% charged? With VRB this value MUST be expressed as amperage in the presence of X value voltage.
This rule was present thirty-five years ago when calcium/calcium sealed batteries were the prime storage for emergency devices. Recharge the battery at a KNOWN amperage rate, calculated to the exact first place decimal amp. Sense a THRESHOLD voltage. After that threshold is reached, a timer takes command of the charge process. X number of minutes pass then the charger system goes offline. Solid-state switching between line/DC power and battery backup can be reduced to .03 seconds. I am doing that here in Mexico now with solid state relays. So the battery charging system is autonomous. Therefore with zero hotel load total and complete control of recharging can be effected. And yes, those chargers do a freshening charge periodically. No, you do not want to know the weight. No you REALLY don't want to know the cost. The TelCel tower I troubleshot down here was 48 vdc. It had a Siemens charger and a Siemens inverter.
NINER!
Ya got me. Dwelling on LED lamp power supply design, the upcoming Mega voltage adjustment, and this thread simultaneously, overloaded the frontal lobes at that late (for me) hour. Thank you for the correction.
