I used propane to heat the water, but 12v battery electricity to get the ignitor going and the temp sensor on it too to shut off the gas if the sensor temp for the fire burning gets too low, it shuts off propane gas flow, so the whole trailer doesn't blow up. So the propane solenoid being open uses 12V electricity too, when the water heater is in use.
