The wattmetter does draw 0.07 amps in my experience. It however does not read its own consumption unless it is powered separately by the little 3 prong tab thing on the side.
I've used 3 of these. Only one of them was able to read very low currents.
When hooked inline, the watts would be very close but the voltages and amperages would not be as close. Some resistance on the Anderson connectors, but no doubt they cannot be considered 100% accurate either.
