Does my 6v have a bad internal connection?

I had no idea the threaded post would have a resistance.
When I charge automobiles I usually alligator clip right to the head of the bolt. Never to lead. In fact on cars there is no exposed lead.
Same with motorcycles. Alligator clip onto the bolt head.
Curious if the flooded charger will act different whether alligator clipped to the threads versus clipped to the flat lead. (I should be able to open jaws big enough)
